Mission and Vision
Our mission
The mission of UCRCCR is to serve as a community of diverse scientists and clinicians with common goals aimed at advancing our understanding of roles for the endocannabinoid system in health and disease, and the impact that cannabis use has on these processes.
Our vision
Our vision for UCRCCR is to function as the public-facing entity at UCR for cannabinoid research and the central hub for translating related scientific discovery into treatments for disorders that affect the body's natural cannabinoid system. Moreover, given the widespread legalization of cannabis for both recreational and medicinal purposes throughout the United States and the world, it is critical that we identify the impact that cannabis use has on health, and to do so in an unbiased manner unaffected by dogmas and stigmas that have plagued cannabinoid research for decades. UCRCCR is uniquely positioned to achieve success in this area due to its promotion of a holistic approach to cannabinoid research that includes elucidating the biology of the endogenous cannabinoid system in the body. This foundation will support collaborative efforts and the training and development of our future scientists and clinicians with interests in cannabinoid and related research.
